Application Process

STEP 1: THE APPLICATION PROCESS

Complete and email back to CCUSA:

  1. The Camp Counselors UK application form,
  2. Using the Resume Template your updated Resume
  3. The CCUSA Program Agreement – signed by you
  4. Payment
  5. Click here to download the Camp Counselors UK 2018 Application Packet!

CCUSA will then forward your application to our UK Program Partner who will contact and chat to you more about the program. You will also receive an email and text message with your login details so that you can manage the aspects of this application.

STEP 2:  FINDING A PLACEMENT

Our UK Program Partner will send your application and Resume out to the Camp employers in the UK. The Camp employers will normally require for you to complete an online registration form which may include some questions about your personality, motivations and experience.

STEP 3: THE CAMP INTERVIEW

Camps may choose to email you first to setup an interview! We ask that you check your emails daily (including your Junk mail) and setup a Skype account so you are ready for a potential interview!

STEP 4: PLACEMENT PROCESS

If successful, two weeks after an interview, you will receive confirmation of your job offer and start dates for training.

STEP 5:  VISA PROCESS

If you do not hold a UK or UE passport, you will need to obtain your working visa for the UK.

  • If you have chosen the Visa Assistance Option, our UK Program Partner will be in contact to assist you through this process (strongly recommend).
  • If you are getting your own Visa you will need to communicate directly with our UK Program Partner with updates on how you are getting your visa.

STEP 6: FLIGHTS / INSURANCE & WHEN TO ARRIVE

Flights

CCUSA works with Travel Managers Group and recommend you book your flights through your exclusive advisor.

Insurance

CCUSA offers a global insurance policy for all our participants – click here for details.

Arrival

We recommend arriving into London at least 1 week before your training start date (2 weeks if you are applying for your own visa), to allow time to open a UK bank account, start the National Insurance Number application and to recover from jet lag! This time is a perfect opportunity to explore London and make new friends at our social events before starting work.

STEP 7: ARRIVAL INFO PARTY

What better way to celebrate your arrival to the UK and the start of your amazing adventure than with a few drinks before heading out on the town to sample the local pub scene?! Throw in a couple hours of incredibly engaging facts and essential information on living here and this is one event not to be missed. Among the priceless tips and guides on settling into the UK and London, we’ll also set up your bank appointment and start your National Insurance Number application. Plus, if you want to live and work in the UK after camp, you’ll receive invaluable advice and assistance to find another job and accommodation, and have access to an enviable 365-Day social event calendar.

STEP 8:  HEADING TO CAMP / MY ARRIVAL AT CAMP

Each camp is responsible for picking up their international staff from a designated pickup location (ie; bus or train station). Once placed, your employer will provide you with all of this information; you just need to get yourself to that pickup point at the correct time.

STEP 9:  MY SUMMER AT CAMP

It is all up to you now you are at camp - enjoy! Be that amazing international staff member! Lead by example and be a great role model for your campers! If you need anything while in the UK, our Program Partner is just a phone call away. Remember this is a job and you are there for your campers. It’s hard work with long days, but yes you will have time off during camp - normally 1 to 2 days per week.

STEP 10:  AFTER CAMP

Once camp is finished, you are free to live, work and travel around the UK for the remainder of your visa.
Travel with your new friends from camp, take a UK or EU trip or come see us in London for further help to find another job and accommodation - the choice is yours.
