Role of a Counselor

If you love working with children in a relaxed and sociable working environment, this is the perfect opportunity to hit the ground running with your UK work experience. Every year hundreds of camp counselors go to the UK with pre-confirmed jobs to work as Activity Instructors or English Teachers.

These roles provide a fantastic work experience in outdoor/indoor activity guiding, teaching as well as leadership and taking care of children. Everything will be sorted for you, as you will receive full training, subsidised accommodation & food, plus additional weekly wage!

Your Role

You will be placed in one of the following exciting roles:

1. Activity Instructors

Working as an Activity Instructor is an extremely rewarding experience where you will have the chance to teach and receive further training on a range of amazing activities such as:

  • Abseiling
  • Kayaking
  • Quad-biking
  • Archery
  • Raft building
  • Arts & crafts
  • Dance & drama
  • Sports (rugby, soccer, swimming)
  • Campfires & more

Activity Instructors deliver enjoyable activity sessions for small groups of roughly 12 children who could be aged between 6 and 17 years old. Full training and induction is included so you don't have to have any qualifications beforehand.

2. English Teachers

Looking for a dynamic, creative and flexible teaching or TESOL role?

This is the perfect opportunity for you to develop creative and flexible lessons and to adapt the syllabus for different ages and abilities.

  • Full training and induction included
  • Teach English in classes of no more than 15 students
  • Flexible and fun lesson structure
  • To be eligible for this role you must have a TEFL qualification or hold relevant experience and be a native English speaker
