Employment can be 4 - 23 months, depending on the type of Employer and position. Once you’ve finished your initial placement, it is up to you on what you do next. Many people work for a season, head off to travel and then come back for another season. Talk to your CCUSA office to discuss your options. The choice is yours!
No, but like any job, the more relevant experience you have, the higher your chances of being employed are. Customer service or hospitality experience is a must. On the job training is provided for you during the first few weeks of your placement.
It depends on your experience and your date of departure. We ask that you always be patient and flexible.
Yes! There are many programs you can participate in prior to arrival in Canada and while in Canada. Your options include Camp Counselors USA, Camp Counselors Canada, or Camp Counselors Russia. Just be sure to apply at least 8 weeks before you leave Australia as you will need to apply for your visa before you leave. We will also need your arrival date into Canada.
Lots of people do other programs, tours and traveling before arriving in Canada. This is not a problem – you just need to put the date that you wish to start working on your application form. If you are already overseas when your placement comes through we just need to have an email address we can contact you to confirm the position. Easy!
A minimum of 8 weeks, but preferably 12.
We are confident that if you were accepted to the program, we will be able to find you a placement. If you are not offered a job, your program payment will be refunded. Please refer to the Program Agreement for more details.

ON THE JOB

The great thing about these positions is that you are able to experience all aspects of living and working in Canada. Most positions available are in customer service and hospitality. However, an open work permit does not restrict you to any one type of employer or position. We are working hard to get a variety of positions to offer to our participants.
Most of the jobs available are in resort areas and big cities.
Your gross weekly income will average CAN$200 – CAN$400 per week before deductions based on a fulltime role.
Your employer will be able to assist you in finding suitable accommodations and in some cases, they might even provide housing for you. It all depends on the employer, location and job.
You’ll be given a date to report to your employer. All details including your CCUSA arrival orientation (The Works option only), full directions to the employer, information from the airport, location, manager’s contact names and phone numbers, and what is included with your position will be provided prior to your arrival.
Every effort will be made to place two people in the same location. We would recommend that you give additional time with your application to assist in placing you together.
